Maurice Hodgson was born in 1934. After receiving his PHD, he taught at English at Douglas College, BC for nearly twenty years. An avid scholar, he published in Canadian journals such as Canadian Literature and Beaver. He also produced a biography published by Hancock House, with a preface by John D. Diefenbaker, in 1976: The Squire of Kootenay West: A Biography of Bert Herridge. His subjects of inquiry included Canadian history and literature as well as the Polar Expedition of Sir John Franklin...
